New record for the Tortuguero River basin; previous records of the species in Costa Rican freshwaters were restricted to the Martina River basin. Basis of the record: A single specimen was captured in the río Tortuguero, in the Parque Nacional Tortuguero, Limón (10.58527, -83.52335), at 1 m. a.s.l., on June 6, 1985, by Kirk Winemiller (UCR 1790-007).
