Distribution: Global: Western Atlantic Ocean; from Guatemala to southern Brazil; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; Costa Rica: Sa and To (Atlantic), 0– 10 m.a.s.l., Per, Dia.

Occurrence and conservation status: Nat, LC.
