Distribution: Global: Eastern Pacific Ocean; from southern Baja California, Mexico, to northen Peru, including the Revillagigedos and Galapagos Islands; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; Costa Rica: Ba , Pi , Tr and Co (Pacific), 0–10 m.a.s.l., Per, Dia.

Occurrence and conservation status: Nat, LC.
