Distribution: Global: Eastern Pacific Ocean; from northern Baja California, Mexico, to Peru, including the Cocos and Malpelo Islands; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; Costa Rica: Co (Pacific), 0– 5 m.a.s.l., Per, Dia.

Occurrence and conservation status: Nat, LC.
