Material examined. 12M, 10F, 2 spec. indet., Mt Lang Bian, 1500–2000 m, 19.V–8.VI.1961, N.R. Spencer coll. ( BPBM).
Distribution. Stephanitis pyrioides was originally described from Asia. It was known from China, Malaysia, and Mongolia ( Drake & Ruhoff 1965a). It has also been introduced in several countries with its host plant Rhododendron , namely Australia (New South Wales), Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Morocco, the Netherlands, and the USA ( Streito 2006), Bhutan, India, and Nepal ( Péricart 1985).
