36. Leptopternis maculata Vosseler, 1902

Diagnosis: This species can be identified by its inner spurs of hind tibia much longer than other, exceeding half length of basal tarsal segment (Steinmann, 1965: Fig. 28); pronotum short and broad, constricted in prozona, posterior sulcus placed at anterior third, prozona much shorter than prozona.

Habitats: It is a species of short grassland and field crops, possible preferably herbivorous.

Material examined: Al Shati Region: Brack , 1 ♀, on alfalfa-wild grass, 13.vi.1995 .

Localities: Cyrenaica: Libyan desert; Tripolitania: Ain Zara, Bu Kamesh, Tripoli; Fezzan: Brack.

Distribution: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mouretania, Tunisia, S.W. Asia.

Remarks: Earlier recorded from Cyrenaica by Salfi (1929) and from Tripolitania by Werner (1908 a,b), I. Bolivar (1915) and Dirsh (1965).
