38. Oedipoda miniata (Pallas, 1771)
Diagnosis: It can easily be distinguished from O. coerulescens because its wings are basally red.
Habitats: It is generally found in desert, semi-desert areas. It may also be found in dry places with sparse vegetation and may extend into cultivated ground.
Material examined: Al Shati Region: Brack , 1♂, 2♀, on alfalfa, 11.xii.1993 .
Localities: Cyrenaica: Appolonia, Barca , Bengasi, Dernah , Fueihat , Ghemines , Giuliana , Golfo di Bomba , Merg , Porto Bardia , T ecnis, T ocra, Tolmetta; Tripolitania: Ain Zara, Aziziyah, Gharian, Girza (Chersa), Jebel T'kut, Leptis Magna, Tripoli, U adi Gerfen; Fezzan: Brack .
Distribution: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, S. Europe, S.W. Asia.
Remarks: This species is ditributed all over Libya. Earlier recorded from Tripolitania by Werner (1908 b) and La Greca (1958) and from Cyreniaca by Giglio-Tos (1923), Uvarov (1923), Zanon (1924), Salfi (1925 b) and Capra (1929).
