39. Oedipoda charpentieri Fieber, 1853
Diagnosis: This species resembles O. miniata in appearance but differs from it by the following characters. Wing mostly blue; the dark band mostly deep black, weakly bowed, reaching up to 6th section of anal fan and touching the hind margin (Harz, 1975: Fig. 1727).
Habitats: Herbivorous, surviving only a few days on grasses. It occurs in semi-desert and forest. It is characteristic of grass and found in varied but always open habitats such as xerophilous vegetation in mountain areas, in fields, woods and cereal crops.
Material examined: Ghat Region: Al Awaynat : 1♀, on vegetable, 10.xi.1995 .
Localities: Fezzan: Al Awaynat.
Distribution: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, S. Europe.
Remarks: The species is rare and first record from Libya.
