Distribution: Mexico (Chis, Gro, Hgo, Oax, Ver), Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica.
Representative specimens from Veracruz: Orizaba?: F. Mueller 137 (NY). Vigas de Ramírez: L. Bohs et al. 1777 (MEXU, XAL).
Ecology: Epiphytic or saxicolous; in central Veracruz in montane rain and pine-oak forests at 2250 m .
Conservation status: — Critically Endangered ( CR) B2 ab(ii,iii) in Veracruz. Known from only two specimens (AOO: 4.8 km 2), of which the most recent was made 30 years ago in a pine-oak forest of central Veracruz, an area that has been under high anthropogenic pressure and is not included inside Veracruz’ protected areas network.
