Enosis Mabille, 1889 View in CoL is a subgenus of Lychnuchus Hübner, [1831]
Enosis Mabille, 1889 (type species Enosis dognini Mabille, 1889 ) is sister to currently monotypic Lychnuchus Hübner, [1831] (type species Lychnuchus olenus Hübner, [1831] , which is a junior subjective synonym of Hesperia celsus Fabricius, 1793 ) ( Fig. 15 View Figure 15 ). COI barcode difference between the type species of these genera is 7.1% (47 bp). Morphologically, they both are characterized by bifid aedeagus tip covered in small teeth and stout uncus with knob-like arms. Due to these similarities and to avoid a monotypic genus Lychnuchus , which is not prominently distinct, but possesses possibly mimetic and unusual for Enosis wing patterns, we propose to treat Enosis Mabille, 1889 as a subgenus of Lychnuchus Hübner, [1831] .
