Description. Adult ( Fig. 8): Wingspan 17.0–19.0 mm.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 32). As illustrated.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 53): Posterior apophysis about twice as long as anterior apophysis. Sterigma a wide ring with narrow sclerotized edge. Ductus bursae short, same length as anterior apophysis; ductus seminalis arising from near corpus bursae. Corpus bursae large, pear-shaped, same length as posterior apophysis; signa a pair of sclerotized stout teeth with base elongate oval and weakly sclerotized.
Type material. Holotype ♂, KOREA: Mt. Halla , Cheju, 5.vii.1986, coll. K. T. Park [not examined].
Paratype: 1 ♂, same data as for holotype ( CIS, Korea) [not examined] .

Houhun Li et al. ( NKUM, Tianjin) .
Biology. The adults were bred from Gardenia jasminoides Ellis (Rubiaceae) in July in Chongqing, China.
Distribution. China, Korea.
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the relatively short process of the uncus brachium and the short and rectangular valva with the apex blunt ( Fig. 32). It is similar to S. percnaula Meyrick in the male genitalia, and the differences between them are given under S. percnaula Meyrick.
Notes. The female and the hostplant are recorded for the first time.
