Measurements of holotype ( Sasa & Jameson 1954): AW 62, PW 67, SB 24, ASB 18, PSB 16, AP 21, AM 30, AL 30, PL 39, S 33. Measurements of two specimens from Turkey ( Kepka 1966): AW 52(50), PW 74(76), SB 26(25), ASB 20(-), PSB 16(-) SD 36(-), AP 24(-), AM -(26), PL 38, DS 36(35), VS 30(35), NDV 66(70).

Type material (not examined). Holotype and paratypes are deposited in the Institute of Medical Science , the University of Tokyo, Japan . Type locality is situated in Gunma Prefecture of Japan .

Hosts. Urotrichus talpoides Temminck , Alticola roylei (Gray) , Neodon sikimensis Horsfield , Cricetulus migratorius (Pallas) , Myodes smithii (Thomas) , Microtus arvalis (Pallas) , M. montebelli (Milne-Edwards) , Mus musculus L., Apodemus agrarius (Pallas) , A. flavicollis (Melchior) , A. speciosus (Temminck) .

Distribution. Japan, South Korea, Russia (Primorsky Krai), China, Armenia,? Turkey, Pakistan, Nepal. Data on the occurrence of this species in Europe were refuted by Kudryashova (1998). Previous records from Turkey: Bornova, Kavaklidere ( Kepka 1966).

Remarks. Data on the specimens from Turkey given by Kepka (1966) are very incomplete and do not allow exact identification. This material may really belong to Ch. flava or some other close species. Thus, there is no enough evidence for the presence of Ch. ikaoensis in Turkey.
