A seed cone in cross section, composed of peltate scales, densely disposed around the axis, 5 mm long and 4 mm wide, it corresponds in size to Chamaecyparis SPACH rather than Cupressus LINNEAUS. The scale surface is not visible which makes specific identification impossible (see also Kilpper 1968a, b, Mai and Velitzelos 1997).
