Type species: Adelotremus leptus , new species

Diagnosis. A monotypic genus of Nemophini with dorsal-fin spine pterygiophores that broadly contact robust vertebral neural spines ( Figs. 2–3 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3 A); absence of bi-pored lateral-line tubes; simple cirrus associated only with anterior 1 or 2 dentary sensory canal pores; 32 total vertebrae; and only 3 infraorbital bones.

Etymology. Adelotremus is a combination of the Greek adelos (concealed) and trema (hole), and alludes to the discovery of this fish hiding in a calcareous polychaete tube; gender masculine.
