Material examined. Stn. RAS — 12.ii.2010, Ant.07/2010 (10–40 m): several sterile stems, up to 1 cm high, on bryozoan; 19.ii.2010, Ant.10/2010 (43 m): a luxuriant, mass-like, fertile colony, ca. 6 cm high (MHNG-INVE- 79787).

Remarks. Peña Cantero et al. (2002) redescribed and provided a lengthy synonymy for this species. Geographical distribution. Detailed in Peña Cantero et al. (2002).
