Pseudobalistes fuscus (Bloch & Schneider 1801) —Bluestriped triggerfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken on east side of Tsoileunung Island, southeast of New Hanover, at 6–21 m depth, St. KR124, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Red Sea, East and South Africa, Seychelles, Madagascar and Mascarenes east to Marshall Islands and Tuamotu Archipelago, north to southern Japan and Ogasawara Islands, south to Australia and New Caledonia. Solitary in sheltered reefs, lagoon and on seaward reef slopes, 1–50 m depth. Marine.
