Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District , 22 m depth, by Dean Tully on 17 Sept. 2012.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea east to Marshall Islands and Samoa, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Sand on reef flats, 0–10 m depth. Marine.
