Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Winterbottom & Hoese (2015: 12), based on USNM 298782 (2) from islands near Kavieng.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Maldives and India east to western Caroline Islands and Fiji, north to Taiwan, south to New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Found in caves and crevices of coral reefs, 1–14 m depth. Marine.
