Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District , at 12 m depth, by Dean Tully on 16 Sept. 2012.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Madagascar and Seychelles east to Hawaiian Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia. Commensal on gorgonian seawhips, 5–30 m depth. Marine.
