Anaora tentaculata Gray 1835 —Tentacled dragonet, leafy dragonet ( Fig. 125 )

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District by Dietmar Amon on 22 Feb. 2008, and at 1 m depth by Dean Tully on 4 July 2014 .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Eastern Indonesia east to Guam, Palau and Yap, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Guinea. Found in harem groups, on sand-rubble bottoms near coral reefs, or in seagrass habitats, 1–30 m depth. Marine.
