Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, by Dean Tully on 23 Sept. 2012.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia, Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Solitary on live or dead corals, in sheltered shoreline reefs, 0–5 m depth. Marine.
