Pomacanthus sexstriatus View in CoL (Cuvier [ex Kuhl & Hasselt] in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1831)—Six-banded angelfish

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Tigak Islands, Kavieng District, New Ireland, by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 559). Specimens observed by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005, and by Barry C. Russell during 7–28 June 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Solitary or in pairs, in coastal, lagoon, and seaward coral reefs, 3–60 m depth. Marine.
