Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Lihir Group, Namatamai District, New Ireland by Fry et al. (2006: 129).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2, 5.—General distribution: East and South Africa east to Samoa, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found in small groups near reefs, 2–50 m depth. Marine.
