Carangoides orthogrammus ( Jordan & Gilbert 1882)— Island trevally

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Lihir Group , Namatamai District , New Ireland by Fry et al. (2006: 129); specimens photographed at St. KVG25 (off southeastern New Hanover) by Serge Andréfouët on 22 Aug. 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 5.—General distribution: East Africa, Seychelles and La Réunion (Mascarenes) east to Hawaiian Islands and Revillagigedo Islands ( Mexico), north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia and Lord Howe Island. Found in small groups in coastal water including estuaries, 3–168 m depth. Marine.
