Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Lihir Group, Namatamai District, New Ireland by Fry et al. (2006: 129).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: Réunion (western Mascarenes); Sri Lanka east to Caroline Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Found above rock bottom, 90–360 m depth. Marine.
