Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Gill (2004: 125), based on USNM material from Kavieng.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Queensland ( Australia) and eastern New Guinea east to Samoa. Cryptic in crevices in inshore and seaward reefs, 0–18 m depth. Marine.
