Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 15 May 2011.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Myanmar east to Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, south to Queensland ( Australia). Found on algal-covered rocks and gorgonian sea-fans, 5–20 m depth. Marine.
