Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 10 May 2009.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Papua New Guinea, south to Queensland ( Australia) and New Caledonia. Found among debris or algae, 1–20 m depth. Marine.
