Status at New Ireland. New record, based specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 13 June 2008 and 15 May 2011.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Palau and Solomon Islands, north to Philippines, south to Queensland ( Australia). Found on sand, rubble and seagrass adjacent to reefs, 1–12 m depth. Marine.
