Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4439-5, northeast of New Hanover ).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate seas, but not in eastern Pacific. Bathypelagic, 0–1500 m depth. Marine.
