Status at New Ireland. First recorded from St. Mathias by Duncker & Mohr (1929: 82), based on ZMH 15548.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 4.—General distribution: East Africa east to Mariana and Society islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Found on shallow reef flats and in estuaries, 1–12 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
