Status at New Ireland. New record, based on confirmed records from an observer program on shark longline vessels in 2014 (NFA and CSIRO, unpublished data).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 4.—General distribution: Circumglobal in temperate and tropical seas. Oceanic and pelagic, 0–1000 m depth. Marine.
