Type locality: Japan, Okinawa, Iriomote isl .
Type series: Holotype —SEHU; paratypes: HSPC, TTPC.
Remarks. Cangshanaltica ogatai is the only species described, so far, which has an elytral pattern with multiple spots. This coloration is uncommon among Cangshanaltica species distributed in continental Asia. Species with a similar color pattern are distributed also in Taiwan, however, we hesitate to either assign them to C. ogatai or describe them as a new species (see comments below).
