Distribution. Collected from off Bahia, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, at depths from 233 to 1016 m. Gadella imberbis was described from off Cape Verde Islands (16°53’ N, 25°10’ W), and is known from the eastern and western Atlantic, from about 40° N to 30° S (Cohen et al. 1990; Menezes & Figueiredo 2003b).
