Notes

Thick, somewhat pointed spines longer than body width. The main body is very small in comparison to the spines and the body surface is almost entirely covered in spines. Maximum recorded size: 15 cm across. Colour a dark brown with the base of spines pale brown and dark brown to dark red towards the tips (Fig. 138).
