Material examined. 1 ovigerous female, (TL: 35mm), 0 6 Apr. 2014, Deserta Island-SC, 10m, 27°16'30.9''S 48°19'36.2''W, ( LCP /UFSC-084), hidden under rocks.
Material observed. 6 individuals (3 couples), 0 4 and 0 5 Apr. 2014, Galé Island–SC, 3m, 4,3m and 11m, 27°10'66.4''S 48°24'40.1''W, and 27°10'88.7''S 48°24'61.5''W.
Distribution. Recorded in the Western Atlantic—Bermuda, North Carolina, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Bahamas, West Indies, Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil. In Brasil, occurs in Atol das Rocas (3o S), Fernando de Noronha (13o S) and from Ceará (03o S) to Paraná (25o S).
Remark. The present record (27o S) extends the species range 200 km towards the south in the western Atlantic.
