71. Auricula flabelliformis Voigt ( Fig. 177 View FIGURES 176–184 )
Type locality: Singapore ; Nagasaki; Wei Hai Wei; Loochoo Islands ; Kuwait .
Reference: Voigt 1960, p. 3, pl. 1, figs 8, 9.
Morphometrics: Valves 123 (85–145) μm long, 70 (55–78) μm wide, fibulae 4.5 in 10 μm and transapical striae 11–13 (16–18) in 10 μm.
Remarks: Strial density on the valve of the local specimens is much coarser than the type ones. Five localities are introduced in the original description of the species; however, no additional reports are available. Auricula flabelliformis is rare in Guam and Yap in the western Pacific Ocean ( Lobban 2015). As a result, the distribution area of this species may be limited to Northeast Asia and western Pacific Ocean. It is a tropical or subtropical taxon found in warmer coasts. In South Korea, it was reported previously by Park et al. (2014) from three localities in the western and southern coasts of Korea, and is currently rare along the Seogwipo coast.
