65. Undatella lineata (Greville) Paddock & Sims ( Fig. 141 View FIGURES 135–145 )

Basionym: Amphiprora lineata Greville.

Synonym: Amphiprora hustedtii Meister ; Amphiprora quinquegibba Ricard.

Type locality: Woodlark Island , Papua New Guinea .

References: Meister 1937, p. 264, pl. 8, figs 2–4; Ricard 1975, p. 202, pl. 2, fig. 15; Paddock & Sims 1980, p. 169, figs 10–34; Williams 1988, p. 5, pl. 4, figs 5, 6.

Morphometrics: Valves 97–104 (75–110) μm long, 8.5–8.8 (9–10) μm wide, transapical striae 15 (16–17) in 10 μm, and fibulae 4–5 (4–6) in 10 μm.

Remarks: The valve outline of this taxon is Amphora form, but very thin in the longitudinal direction. The dorsal margin of valve is biarcuate with a deep constriction in the middle, and the ventral margin is curved six times. The valves are only seen and the girdle views are not observed in this survey. The type localities of the synonymous taxa are Nagasaki of Japan ( Meister 1937) and Vairao Lagoon of Tahiti in the central Pacific Ocean, which is a tropical taxa inhabiting in warmer oceans. There are not many reported sites other than the original localities of the taxon, and they were found in Guam ( Lobban et al. 2012) and the Galapagos Islands (wrongly reported as Amphora hustedtii Levkov, Stidolph et al. 2012 ). According to the website AlgaeBase, this species is also distributed in marine waters of Taiwan, Canary Islands off the Atlantic Oceans of North Africa, and the Adriatic Sea of Bosnia-Hertzegovina ( Guiry & Guiry 2019).

It was observed very rare in the Seogwipo coast, and was encountered a few times in this survey. This species is newly reported in South Korea.
