Holotype. Male labeled “ USA: AZ; Santa Cruz Co., / Duquesne Rd. / 31.3466, -110.6122 / 16 VIII 2019, 1435 m / C.Ramsey, D.Cavan, J. Quist [printed, white paper] // [circular blue disc signifying dissection by RJB] // HOLOTYPE / Pachybrachis / coronado Barney / R. J. Barney 2023 [printed, red paper]”. Deposited in BYUC. The specimen is point-mounted with the genitalia affixed to a second point. It is in excellent condition with all appendages intact.

Paratypes. The other twenty-five known specimens (22♂♂ 3♀♀) are paratypes, with the additional label “PARATYPE / Pachybrachis / coronado Barney / R. J. Barney 2023 [printed, yellow paper]”.

Description. Male. Yellow with red-brown pronotum and brown-black elytral maculae, tibial spur ( Fig. 1 ); L = 2.57–2.87 mm (mean = 2.73 mm, n = 10); W = 1.40–1.65 mm (mean = 1.48 mm, n = 10); L/W = 1.74–1.89 (mean = 1.84, n = 10). Head: Slightly wider than thoracic apex, HW = 0.92–1.07 mm (mean = 1.00 mm, n = 10); eyes moderately separated without ocular lines, IOD = 0.18– 0.27 mm (mean = 0.22 mm, n = 10); IOD/HW = 0.18–0.25 (mean = 0.22, n = 10); face yellow with red-brown, W-shaped macula connecting vertex and bases of antennae and almost up to base of upper lobes of eyes; antennae progressing from yellow to brown, not reaching elytral declivity. Pronotum: Yellow, finely punctate, less so at margins, M-shaped red-brown macula; PL = 0.85–0.96 mm (mean = 0.91 mm, n = 10); PW = 1.26–1.44 mm (mean = 1.34 mm, n = 10); PL/PW = 0.67–0.71 (mean = 0.68, n = 10). Elytra: Standard brown to black markings, submarginal stria fairly regular, marginal interspace devoid of punctures in apical half. Pygidium: Mostly yellow. Venter: Brown-black. Legs: Yellow, front claws of male slightly enlarged; foreleg with enlarged tibial spur ( Fig. 1B ). Genitalia: Median lobe in en-face view reveals large, round OS that extends to a rounded nodule with setae on either side, median basal plate prominent. In lateral view median lobe remains wide from base to extended nodule. Eleven males from Arizona were dissected.

Female. As in male, except L = 2.81–3.11 mm (mean = 2.95 mm, n = 3); W = 1.50–1.70 mm (mean = 1.58 mm, n = 3); L/W = 1.83–1.90 (mean = 1.87, n = 3); HW = 1.01–1.07 mm (mean = 1.04 mm, n = 3); IOD = 0.21–0.25 mm (mean = 0.23 mm, n = 3); IOD/HW = 0.20–0.24 (mean = 0.22, n = 3).

Etymology. This species is named to celebrate the Coronado National Forest, which is preserved as the habitat for many of the species described in this study of Arizona Pachybrachis .

Distribution. All known specimens are from southeastern Arizona.

Biological Notes. Many specimens were collected via ultraviolet (UV) light.
