Checklist of Micronectidae of New Guinea and Oceania

Ten species of Micronectidae are recorded here for New Guinea, the adjacent north and eastern islands, and Oceania ( Fiji). It is likely that more species will be found in the region as collecting expeditions continue and further study of museum holdings are completed.

Further resolution of adjacent regional faunas, particularly the Asian, Oriental, and Malay Archipelago areas, will yield a better understanding of phylogenetic relationships and the zoogeographic context of Australasian and southern hemisphere micronectid faunas.
