DISTRIBUTION: E. Brazil; perhaps Paraguay.

COMMENT: This species has been included in Oryzomys and in Thomasomys ; see Hershkovitz, 1959, Proc. Biol. Soc. Wash., 72:5- 10; also see Pine, 1980, Mammalia, 44: 195.
