COMMENT: Included as a subgenus of Peromyscus by Hall, 1981: 720; Hooper, 1968, in King, ed., The Biology of Peromyscus (Rodentia) , p. 38, 66. Linzey and Layne, 1974, Am. Mus. Novit., 2532:1-20, studied the morphology of the spermatozoa. Reviewed by Carleton, 1980:118, 125, who considered Podomys a distinct genus.
