COMMENT: Formerly included tomentosus and fronto (which were placed in Kunsia by Hershkovitz, 1966, Z. Saugetierk., 31:81 -149, who revised Scapteromys ) and labiosus (which was placed in Bibimys by Massoia, 1980, Ameghiniana, 17: 280-287); also see comments under Kunsia .
