TYPE LOCALITY: Galapagos Isis., Chatham Isl. (= San Cristobal) ( Ecuador) .
DISTRIBUTION: San Cristobal Isl. (Galapagos Isis.).
COMMENT: Closely related to bauri ; subgenus Oryzomys ; see Gardner and Patton, 1976, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. La. St. Univ., 49:16. O. galapagoensis is a synonym of bauri (ALG) . Probably extinct; see Corbet and Hill, 1980:143.
