DISTRIBUTION: S.E. California to S.E. Utah, W. and S.E. Colorado, and C. Texas ( U.S.A.), south to N.E. Michoacan and Hidalgo ( Mexico).

COMMENT: Includes latifrons and montezumae; see Hall and Genoways, 1970, J. Mammal., 51: 504- 516, and Hall, 1981:753. Hybridizes with micropus in S. E. Colorado and possibly E.
