COMMENT: Included as a subgenus in Akodon by Ellerman, 1941:406, and Cabrera, 1961:453. Bianchi et al., 1971, Evolution, 25:724-736, and Reig, 1978, Publ. Mus. Munic. Cienc. Nat. Nat., 1 (25):179, used the name Cabreramys but did not mention Reig, 1978:164- 190. Includes Thalpomys as a subjective synonym; see Langguth, 1975, Papeis Avulsos Zool. Sao Paulo, 29(8):45-54, and comments under Akodon. Gardner and Patton, 1976, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. La.
