DISTRIBUTION: Bolivia.

COMMENT: Included in callosus by Hershkovitz, 1962, Fieldiana Zool., 46: 172; considered a distinct species by Pearson and Patton, 1976, J. Mammal., 57:343. Probably synonymous with muriculus (DFW) ; see Williams and Mares, 1978, Ann. Carnegie Mus., 47: 197.
