Material. 57: 1 mine, larvae, 3 km W HettangeGrande, parking place A 31, 200 m, 19.x.2002, Salix fragilis , EvN; 83: 2♀, Mazaugues, Vallon de l'Epine, 24.x.1994, Salix sp. , 18–21.iv.1995, RB (RB).
Remarks. This is the common species of smooth leaved Salix species such as S. alba , S. fragilis , and others. Apparently previously partly confused with S. salicis in France. The record from 33Gironde on Salix alba ( Brown & Gouin 1917) is believed to belong here, as are the records from Corsica on Salix alba and S. amygdalina .
