Remarks. After the first records based on mines only, the occurrence of Ectoedemia caradjai has been confirmed by various records of adults and mines throughout the southern half of France. Chrétien apparently recognised a specimen of Ectoedemia caradjai as a separate species and labelled it with an unpublished name, ‘ Nepticula flavifasciella ’. Larvae of this species occur much earlier in the year than other Ectoedemia species on oak: July to August.
