Remarks. Parafomoria liguricella is usually common with its host, Cistus albidus , but not as abundant and conspicuous as P. pseudocistivora . In contrast to the latter, adults emerge in spring (MayJune), and larvae can be found in many months, with records from January to May and again in August (see list) and September.

Remarks. The stemmines of this species were known to us for more than a decade before the junior authors succeeded in collecting larvae in July 2004 and rearing one male, which was the basis for its description. A few more larvae were found at the type locality and Villefranche in 2005, and a few males and females reared. Larvae occur in June and July in the fresh green stems of the host, and adults emerge soon thereafter. It is therefore likely that larvae of a second generation can be found in autumn. The original description mentioned Fumana procumbens as the hostplant, but after careful reidentification, we think that all plants in the type locality and in Villefranche are actually the very closely related F. ericoides ( Fig. 29). The plants from Rustrel were more likely F. procumbens , but no vouchers were preserved to confirm this.
